Just a day before poll results, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's "Tiger abhi zinda hai" posters reappeared outside Janata Dal (United)'s party office in Patna on Thursday.

The poster was put up by former Bihar minister and JD(U) leader Ranjit Sinha, which also featured his image along with Nitish. The poster read, "Protector of Dalits, Mahadalits, backward classes, upper castes, and minorities - Tiger abhi zinda hai (Tiger is still alive)."

There have been various speculations doing the rounds that Nitish's health is deteriorating. It was a major concern and an issue raised by the opposition during the election campaign. Mahagathabandhan's Chief Ministerial candidate, Tejashwi Yadav, questioned Nitish's health and fitness to "continue leading the state."

What do exit polls reveal?

Following the second phase of voting, multiple exit polls emerged, revealing a thrilling return of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for yet another term, while the INDIA bloc's Mahagathbandhan might fall short of securing a majority.

NDA is expected to win 148 seats, while the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan will restrict to around 88 seats. Others are projected to win seven seats.

The first phase, which took place on November 6, recorded a voter turnout of 65.08 per cent. A higher voter turnout is also said to favour the major political alliances.

The second phase on November 11 stood out even higher with a voter turnout of 68.76 per cent, as compared to the first phase.

Earlier, in 2020, NDA won 125 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan followed close at 110. Among these, the BJP secured 74, JD(U) won 43, RJD stood at 75, and Congress won 19.

This time too, the major fight is between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan. The results will be declared on Friday, November 14, revealing whether the NDA will retain power or the Mahagathbandhan brings a change.
