Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed an election rally in Bihar's Lakhisarai on Thursday ahead of assembly elections in the state. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shah led the attack, criticizing the Mahagathbandhan and Rahul Gandhi.
Praising PM Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and their governance, he said, "Under PM Modi's rule, the country is becoming free of naxalism, terrorism, and corruption. Before 2005, the whole of Bihar was in the grip of 'Jungle Raj'. All businesses, industries, and trading were shut down, and the only businesses in operation were kidnapping and ransom...You entrusted the governance of Bihar to Nitish Kumar, who ended Jungle Raj and ushered in a new era of development in Bihar."
He urged people to think about the development of Bihar and vote to end Jungle Raj. The Home Minister said, "When you cast your vote on November 6th, you must press the lotus and arrow symbols. But don't press the symbols, thinking that your vote will make someone an MLA or Minister. Instead, vote with the thought that each of your votes is for the development of Bihar under the leadership of Nitish Kumar and Modi. Each of your votes is to stop Jungle Raj."
Shah also hit out at Rahul Gandhi for his remarks about PM Modi, stating that the NDA will emerge victorious as the grand alliance will be ousted from Bihar on November 14. Adding, "Yesterday, Rahul Baba came here and used some words to insult PM Modi. But by insulting PM Modi, he insulted Chhathi Maiya. He said that those who celebrate Chhath Puja are just acting. Rahul Baba, you will not understand the importance and faith of Chhathi Maiya. Neither will your mother. You use abusive language against PM Modi, your workers insulted Modi ji's mother. When the boxes open on November 14th, your grand alliance will be wiped out."
