A 27-year-old woman in Gurgaon has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her 40-year-old live-in partner to death. Ashmeet Kaur was held at her residence in Ashok Vihar, Gurgaon (Delhi).

The man, named Harish Sharma, was stabbed by Kaur as he wished to visit his family, to which she disapproved, according to police. On August 2, the police had received information from a local hospital about an injured person being admitted. ASI, Sandeep Kumar, Gurgaon police spokesperson, said, "Upon reaching the hospital, the doctor declared the victim dead, following which teams went to the crime scene in DLF Phase-3, where a knife used in the incident and a T-shirt were recovered."

Initial probe revealed that Harish was married and the father of two daughters. He was a scrap dealer, a resident of Baliawas village, Gurugram.  ASI Sandeep added that Harish's wife was unwell, which led him to develop a relationship with Kaur.

He said, "The accused and Harish were living in a live-in relationship for a year in a rented house. Kaur did not approve of Harish visiting his home, leading to a quarrel on Saturday, during which she stabbed him."

According to PTI, Harish would check on his wife's health, often talking to her. This infuriated her, and as the argument raged, Kaur attacked Harish with a kitchen knife.

One of the deceased friends, Vijay, alias Sethi, is also on the radar for the murder. He was reportedly present in another room when Harish was stabbed. The victim's nephew has filed a complaint, alleging that the murder was pre-planned by Vijay and Kaur.

Kaur was arrested, and she has confessed to the crime.
