Following their historic triumph, Team India presented Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a special jersey "Namo" and "1" written on its back, at his official residence in New Delhi on Thursday. The gesture showcases national unity and gratitude as the World Champions reflected upon some joyous moments and celebrated with the Prime Minister after the win.
PM Modi posted a video sharing the interaction with the team, writing, "Every Indian feels immense pride in Team India's World Cup victory. It was a delight interacting with the women's cricket team. Do watch!"
BCCI Women also posted, "The victorious Indian Cricket Team met the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modiji, at his official residence.

Team India reached Delhi on Tuesday under tight security, after which they met PM Modi. They won the maiden title on Sunday as the women in blue defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the final at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
The video shows skipper Harmanpreet Kaur talking about their previous meeting with PM Modi in 2017, mentioning that they didn't win a trophy then, but they have one now, and hope that there will be more such meetings.
Vice-Captain Smriti Mandhana showed gratitude towards PM Modi for his constant motivation and inspiration, crediting him for the efforts taken for the advancement of women across various fields.
Player of the tournament, Deepti Sharma, also reflected upon their last meeting with PM Modi when he encouraged them to pursue their dreams with hard work. The PM then discussed Deepti's Instagram profile, which features "Jai Shri Ram", and her tattoo of Lord Hanuman, to which she responded that it gave her strength.
He also talked about Harleen Deol's ever-famous exceptional catch against England in 2021, which he had shared in his social media post earlier. Then, he also talked about Harmanpreet's decision to keep the final ball.
The team also asked PM Modi about his ability to stay present, to which he replied that it was a part of his life.
While discussing Amanjot Kaur's notable catch after scary fumbles, the PM said, "While catching, you must be seeing the ball, but after the catch, you must be seeing the trophy."
He also urged the team players to promote the message of Fit India, especially among the young girls in the country. Additionally, discussing concerns about obesity and the importance of staying fit.
