After kicking off the NDA's election campaign in Bihar's Samastipur and Begusarai, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Muzaffarpur on Thursday, where he launched a scathing attack on Congress-RJD along with leaders Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav.
Taking a dig at the Mahagathbandhan, he alleged that RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav wants his son Tejashwi Yadav to be the Chief Minister of Bihar, while Congress leader Sonia Gandhi wants her son Rahul Gandhi to be the Prime Minister of India. Adding that both "posts were not vacant."
Further attacking the opposition, he said, "Katta, Krurta, Katuta, Kushashan, Corruption...these are five identities of RJD's 'Jungle Raj' in Bihar. Those who 'looted' railways, will they develop connectivity in Bihar? RJD goons used to loot vehicle showrooms during Jungle Raj in Bihar."

He also criticized Congress and the RJD for insulting "Chhathi Maiyya for votes." The PM said, "You have seen that your son is busy making the world chant praises for Chhathi Maiya. On the other hand, these Congress and RJD leaders are insulting Chhathi Maiya. Can anyone ever insult Chhathi Maiya just to win votes in an election? Can such an insult be tolerated by Bihar, India? Can my mothers who observe a strict fast without water tolerate it?
This was in response to Rahul Gandhi's remarks about PM Modi that "he did drama in the name of Chhath Puja" and "can even dance on stage for votes."
PM Modi announced that his government is trying to get a UNESCO heritage tag for the Chhath festival, and is also working to promote the heritage and history associated with it. Adding that the Central Government will organize a public competition to encourage young talented artists, and Chhath songs.
