Highlights Karnataka CM and Deputy CM met for breakfast amid the ongoing power tussle in Karnataka Both leaders have affirmed to follow whatever the high command says BJP called it "pure bunkum", which is just an optical illusion

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met with Deputy CM DK Shivakumar at his residence in Bengaluru on Saturday. The power tussle intensified with dramatic twists and turns.

After the Congress high command's intervention, Siddaramaiah invited his Deputy, DK Shivakumar, for a breakfast meeting.

DK Shivakumar also took to social media, saying that he had a productive discussion with CM Siddaramaiah on Karnataka's priorities and the road ahead.

Earlier on Friday, Siddaramaiah stated that the Congress high command had spoken with both the netas and directed them to meet. He said, "The high command has called both of us, so I have invited him (DK Shivakumar) for breakfast, and we will talk there. As I said earlier, I will accept whatever the high command says; there is no change in my stand. Even he (DK Shivakumar) said that whatever the high command says, we will follow that..."

The power crisis is likely to be discussed in the presence of the central leaders, following the Congress's strategy group meeting before the winter session of the Parliament on November 30.

Shivakumar reiterated the same that the party high command will take any decision that's for the betterment of the party.

He also responded to the questions surfacing over the demands of his supporters wanting him to become the Chief Minister. DKS said, "The party workers may be eager, but I am in no hurry. The party will make all the decisions." He may also visit the national capital to raise several key issues with the high command.

BJP responds

BJP responded to the meeting, calling it "pure bunkum." Party spokesperson CR Kesavan called the breakfast drama, saying that it is "nothing but pure bunkum because it is meant to dupe and cheat the people of Karnataka."

He added, "It is a most unbecoming and selfish slugfest for the CM's musical chair by these two leaders. It exposes the directionless politics of the Congress party and their selfish motives in particular, and also the dysfunctional leadership of the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi. Now they are washing dirty linen in public, and the war on social media shows that the Congress government is unstable."

Taking a dig at Congress's breakfast move, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala said, "Breakfast to fix 'broken' Congress Party in Karnataka - it is only an optical illusion for the breakup in Karnataka Congress."

He stated, "DKS wants chair, Siddaramaiah says 'Chai' milega chair nahi. Power over people, satta over janta. Meanwhile, governance is never on Congress's menu. Rahul Gandhi's leadership has ensured the party is in "breakup" mode. Be it Punjab, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, now Karnataka."
