Operation Shivshakti comes two days after the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Mahadev, wherein three terrorists were killed in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar.
One of the terrorists was Suleiman Shah, alias Asif, who is said to be the mastermind of the 22 April Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. The two others have been identified as Jibran and Hamza Afghani. Jibran was allegedly involved in the Sonmarg Tunnel Attack of October 2024.Â
The officials have recovered one M4 carbine rifle, two AK rifles, and other ammunition from the site of the encounter. The operation continues, and further details are awaited.Â
