A 75-year-old man in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur got married to a 35-year-old woman, and was found dead the very next morning. His wish to find a companion in old age did come true, but it didn't last long. The incident was reported in the Kuchhmuchh village of Jaunpur, where the man named Sangruram had been living alone for a year, ever since the death of his first wife. Â
The man's sudden death after the wedding has raised suspicions among the family and neighbours of the locality.Â
Sangruram didn't have any children and was solely dependent on farming to earn a living. In solitude, he decided to remarry a woman half his age. According to his relatives and villagers, Sangruram had spoken of getting married again, and they had even refused him. But later, he got married to a 35-year-old woman, Manbhavati, on September 29. They had a court marriage, and later performed a ceremony with rituals at a temple.Â
The marriage was also a second one for Manbhavati. She has three children from her previous marriage, including two daughters and a son. Manbhavati had told the villagers that Sangruram had promised her that he would provide for her children, and she would only have to take care of the household. She also stated that they had spent most of their wedding night talking to each other.Â
However, Sangruram's health suddenly deteriorated in the morning. He was taken to a private hospital, where he was declared dead. The cause of the death is still unknown.Â
His death has garnered suspicion from the whole village, with some residents skeptical of the situation. Sargruram's relatives, who live in Delhi, had asked to halt the proceedings of the funeral, requesting to perform the rites only after they arrive.Â
