On his visit to Bihar and West Bengal on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated multiple development projects worth over Rs 18,000 crore, with a whopping Rs 13,000 crore foundation projects in Bihar's Gayaji. The focus is on Bihar ahead of the assembly elections in the state. 

The projects span various sectors, including power, road, health, urban development, and water supply. Firstly, the PM inaugurated a 660 MW power project in Buxar, which is built at a cost of Rs 6,880 crore. It will strengthen the energy security of the state. 

He also inaugurated the 8.15 km long Aunta-Simaria bridge on the Ganga River, which will boost the connectivity between North and South Bihar. It will ease congestion and improve access to Simaria Dham. Along with this, he also flagged off two trains, namely the Amrit Bharat Express from Gaya to Delhi with improved facilities for long-distance travel, and the Buddhist Circuit Train between Vaishali and Koderma to boost tourism in the region. 

The PM dedicated the Rs 1,900 crore four-lane Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama section of NH-31 to the general public. 

Not only this, prioritising the health sector, PM Modi inaugurated the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre at Muzaffarpur. Equipped with modern facilities, the hospital is built to provide affordable cancer treatment to patients in Bihar and nearby states. 

 

 

Apart from these, the PM also inaugurated sewerage projects valued at Rs 520 crore in Munger, with similar ones in Daudnagar, Jehanabad, Barahiya, and Jamui. Water supply projects under AMRUT 2.0 were launched in Aurangabad, Bodhgaya, and Jehanabad. 

PM Modi also participated in the Grih Pravesh ceremony for over 12,000 rural and 4,260 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana (PMAY) - Gramin (Rural) and Urban, where he symbolically handed keys to a few women. 

Later on, he traveled to Kolkata for the second leg of his tour.
