Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced to increment in incentives for Asha and Mamta workers in the state on Wednesday for being "a key to enhancing┬а healthcare services in rural areas."┬а
Nitish announced in his social media post on X that the incentive for Asha workers will be increased from Rs 1000 to Rs 3000. While the Mamta workers will be provided Rs 600 per child delivery instead of the earlier Rs 300.┬а
He said, "Since forming the Government in November 2005, we have undertaken extensive efforts to improve healthcare services. Asha and Mamta workers have played a significant role in enhancing healthcare services in rural areas. Keeping this in mind and honoring the vital contributions of Asha and Mamta workers in strengthening healthcare services in rural areas, a decision has been made to increase their honorarium."┬а

Nitish added, "Asha workers will now receive an incentive of 3,000 rupees instead of 1,000 rupees. Additionally, Mamta workers will be provided an incentive of 600 rupees per delivery instead of 300 rupees, which will further boost their morale and strengthen healthcare services in rural areas."┬а

Until very recently, the Bihar Government had announced an increase in the pension of accredited journalists under the Bihar Patrakar Samman Pension Scheme. There will┬аalso be a 35% reservation for women┬аin Government jobs who are permanent residents of Bihar.┬а
Moreover, the Government had also introduced a provision of 125 units of free electricity for domestic consumers.┬а
Earlier on Sunday, the Bihar Government had approved the formation of the State Sanitation Workers Commission to protect the rights of sanitation workers, with their welfare, rehabilitation, and empowerment, ensuring that they have access to Government schemes.┬а
