Women are warriors, bearers of love, who move the cradle and build civilizations. But what if they turn to killers, who take revenge for the love they are given, for the love they have for someone else? Until very recently, there have been barbarous acts of violence by women that are a blot on humanity and womanhood. From torturing the husband, to murdering him and cementing his body, and not even sparing their child, these women have not only turned criminals, but also cursed humanity with their acts. Here is an untold story...from silence to scary:
Until Monday, she was a missing bride, but yesterday she was arrested for allegedly murdering her husband. When the family and community were worried about her abduction and murder, Sonam Raghuvanshi, a 25-year-old woman from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, hired killers to carry out the murder of her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi. The couple was on their honeymoon in Meghalaya, where they went missing after four days. Raja's body was found decomposed, with his throat slit. Sonam has surrendered in Ghazipur, while investigations into the case are still ongoing.
Just a few hours after Sonam's arrest, a 33-year-old woman named Chaitra was arrested in Karnataka for allegedly poisoning her husband, in-laws, and two children by adding sleeping pills in their food to hide her affair and be with another man. It is known that Chaitra and her husband, Gajendra, were not on good terms due to her alleged affairs in their 11-year marriage. She had been adding sleeping pills and some other medicines to the food for a few months, the symptoms of which were visible in the family members.
Gajendra lodged an FIR after he visited a doctor and was told that the dizziness, chest pain, and other symptoms were all because of the poisonous substances in his food.
Earlier this year, the Meerut Murder case took the whole nation by storm. A heinous act of murder, when a woman killed her husband with her boyfriend, brutally dismembering his body in a drum. After murdering her husband, Saurabh Rajput, Muskan Rastogi and her boyfriend, Sahil Shukla, chopped off his body and stuffed it inside a 'blue drum'. Saurabh came from London to Meerut to surprise Muskan and was killed back home. This was not the first attempt to kill Saurabh, but it proved to be the final successful one.
If not murder, some women are mentally torturing and harassing men, enough to lead them to commit suicide. Nikita Singhania and Nikita Sharma did something similar. Nikita Singhania, wife of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash, was accused of harassment and extortion along with her family by her husband in a suicide note and video. In 2022, Nikita had filed a complaint against Atul and his family for demanding dowry and treating their marriage 'like a beast'. On the contrary, Atul had claimed that Nikita's family demanded Rs. 3 crore to withdraw the charges. Nikita was arrested days later while she was hiding in Gurugram.
In another case, Nikita Sharma was arrested for abetment to the suicide of her husband, Manav Sharma, a techie professional at TCS (Tata Consultancy Services). In a seven-minute video clip, Manav alleged that Nikita had an affair, stating that she was behind his drastic step. Nikita was arrested while she was on a run and not responding to the summons issued against her.
Suchana: Mother who didn't spare her child
Suchana Seth, CEO of an AI startup in Bengaluru, murdered her four-year-old son and was on the run with his body packed in a suitcase. Her son died of shock and respiratory asphyxia caused due to strangulation. Earlier investigations stated that the woman might have killed her child due to the custody battle with her estranged husband, Venkat Raman, that caused her distress and pressure. Seth's husband had claimed that she never allowed him to meet their son despite being ordered by the Court.
Bandana Kalita, a gym trainer from Guwahati, carried out a double murder case with two of her close associates. Firstly, she killed her mother-in-law, and then her husband. She chopped the two bodies and disposed of them at two different locations. Bandana then went to her husband's nephew, telling him that her mother-in-law and husband were missing. After finding inconsistencies in her statements and growing suspicions, Bandana was taken into custody, where she confessed to her crime.
These are a few to be named, but such instances have become quite common. Take the case of Ravina Rao, a YouTuber who strangled her husband to death, Pragati, who conspired with her lover Anurag to give a contract for killing her husband Dilip, or Prathima, who poisoned her husband and put him to death. These women have mocked love, and ashamed humanity...
