  • Prashant Kishor won't be contesting in the Bihar elections this time
  • There was a massive buzz that he would be making his electoral debut in this assembly elections
  • He also predicted that NDA will face a defeat this time, while the INDIA bloc is also struggling

Jan Suraaj Party's founder and Chief, Prashant Kishor, on Wednesday made a big and shocking announcement ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar, revealing that he won't be contesting this time. The collective decision has been taken by the party.

Ever since he formed the Jan Suraaj party, there has been massive buzz over Kishor's candidature in the elections scheduled this November. Speculations were also doing the rounds that he might be fielded against political bigwigs. However, the air has been cleaned up by "PK" himself now that his party needs him for "organizational work", and he will focus on strengthening it.

Kishor stated that another candidate will be contesting against RJD's Tejaswi Yadav from the Raghopur seat. During an interview, he told to news agency PTI, "It was a decision we took in the larger interest of the party. If I were to contest, it would have distracted me from the necessary organizational work."

As a "political strategist", which he is, Kishor predicted a "certain defeat" for NDA due to its delay and struggle to finalize candidates and seats in Bihar. Earlier, he had also said that Nitish Kumar's JD(U) will find it difficult to win even 25 out of the 243 seats. On Wednesday, he added that the condition of JD(U) has only worsened ever since. Kishor has been closely associated with Nitish and JD(U), first as a poll analyst and then as a party member.

He pointed out, "The NDA is definitely on its way out and Nitish Kumar will not return as Chief Minister."

Adding, "You do not need to be a psephologist to fathom what is in store for the JD(U). In the last assembly polls, Chirag Paswan staged a revolt just a few days ahead of the announcement of elections and fielded candidates, many of whom were inconsequential, against nominees for Kumar's party, causing its tally to crash to 43."

Talking about the INDIA bloc, Kishor said, "The situation is no better in the INDIA bloc either. There is a never-ending tiff between RJD and Congress. And nobody knows if former state minister Mukesh Sahani's Vikassheel Insan Party is still by their side."

Kishor has forecasted that his party will win 150 seats this time.
