Explosion at Mohali oxygen plant kills 2, several injured

A massive explosion took place in an oxygen cylinder plant situated in Phase 9 of Punjab's Mohali district on Wednesday morning, killing 2 and injuring several others. Three people have sustained severe injuries. 

The incident spread shockwaves across the locality in the entire industrial area, Phase 9. The sub-divisional magistrate and other officials from the police and civic administration reached the accident site immediately to assess the situation and look after the rescue efforts.

Taking to X, the Mohali Deputy Commissioner wrote, "A blast was reported today at an oxygen plant located in Industrial Area, Phase 9. Upon receiving information, medical teams, police, and district administration personnel promptly reached the site and initiated rescue operations. The incident has resulted in two casualties. Additionally, three injured individuals have been shifted to Civil Hospital, Phase 6, for treatment."

While the cause of the explosion is not yet known, the authorities are investigating the site.
