Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public rally in Bihar's Motihari on Friday, ahead of the upcoming polls scheduled later this year. He was accompanied by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary. PM Modi said that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will return to power and will build a new Bihar. Taking a dig at previously elected governments- Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, PM Modi stated that the alliances 'neglected the state.'Â
He added, "We neither get trapped in slogans nor remain confined in promises. We believe in concrete action, which is reflected through our policies and programmes. When I talk about backward classes and extremely backward classes, we mean it, and work for their upliftment." PM Modi said, "Bihar ka Sankalp Atal, NDA ke saath har pal (Bihar's resolve is firm, every moment with NDA). We will build a new Bihar, once again an NDA Government."Â
The Prime Minister also said that the RJD and Congress couldn't even employ people, stating that the UPA government before 2014 had very little fund allocation for the state. He affirmed that NDA is pushing for more employment opportunities in Bihar, so that the youth can prosper with a Samriddh Bihar. PM Modi said, "Our resolve is Samriddh Bihar, har yuva ko rozgar (a prosperous Bihar with employment to every youth). There will be more and more opportunities for the youth. The Nitish Kumar-led state government has already provided government jobs in large numbers after a lot of work in previous years. The Center is aiding Bihar, coming up with the new Rs 1 lakh crore scheme from August 1. Every youth will get Rs 15,000 upon their first employment in the private sector. For self-employment, we have Mudra loans."Â
While waging a strong attack on the opposition, PM Modi also referred to Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary's statement when he compared Rs 1.92 lakh crore over the ten years under UPA before 2014, and Rs 14 lakh after NDA government in 2014. He went on saying, "When Bihar grows, India will also grow."
During his visit to the state today, PM Modi has also inaugurated several developmental projects amounting to Rs. 7,200 crore. These include four Amrit Bharat trains, infrastructure projects, and funds for housing schemes.Â
