
In a shocking incident in South Delhi, a couple and their elder son were found murdered at their residence in Satbari Khark village on Wednesday. According to the police, the recovered bodies had their throats slit with several knives, and their heads smashed with bricks.
The deceased have been identified as Prem Singh (45), his wife Rajani (40), and their son Ritik (24). Their younger son, named Siddharth (22), has been missing and is the prime suspect in the murder.
The police said that a PCR call was received at the Maidan Garhi Police Station, where it was reported that "they found blood all over the house" in Satbari Khark Gaon. A passerby had made a call when he found blood within the house premises, and thought that a youth might have cut his hand.
A senior police officer said, "On reaching the spot, cops discovered bodies lying in a pool of blood on the ground floor and another on the first floor."
The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) experts and the district crime team reached to examine the incident site. The crime scene was secured, with the collection of evidence, and the bodies were photographed, then sent for post-mortem.
The police state that evidence suggests alleged involvement of Siddharth in the murder. Cops found that he had confided to someone that "he had killed his family" and "would not live here anymore."
Locals around said that Siddharth was undergoing psychiatric treatment for some time. When the police searched the house, they recovered treatment documents and medications, which allegedly belonged to him.
One of the officers said, "Siddharth was receiving treatment from several mental health institutions over the past 12 years, the documents revealed. He suffered from obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and showed aggressive behavior. From the local inquiry, it was also revealed that he was not very fond of his family due to psychiatric issues."
Prem Singh was employed in a private job, while Rajani was a housewife. An investigation is underway, with the timeline of events put together that led to the triple murder. However, the exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem report.
