  • CM Yogi announced the same as he visited the village, finding out that there is no Muslim population in Mustafabad
  • He stated that this will ensure the restoration of the village's heritage

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday announced that the Mustafabad village in Lakhimpur Kheri district will be renamed as "Kabir Dham". The decision was made after he came to know that Mustafabad has no muslim residents.

CM Yogi visited the Mustafabad village to participate in the 'Smriti Prakatotsav Mela' at the Vishwa Kalyan Ashram. Addressing the gathering, he said, "Upon arrival, I asked about the village, and came to know that it is named Mustafabad. I asked about the Muslim population here, and was told that no Muslim family lives here. I assured the villagers that we will rename the village Kabir Dham."

He added that he has already asked the authorities to send a proposal for the change in name, so that the process is concluded as soon as possible. Yogi said, "In the past, the names of Ayodhya and Prayagraj were changed to Faizabad and Allahabad, respectively, to hurt the religious sentiments of the people. This is not secularism, but hypocrisy. When our (BJP) government came to power, Ayodhya and Prayagraj regained their old, glorious heritage. Similarly, Mustafabad will now be renamed as Kabir Dham."
