India secured their lowest-ever T20 run chase by beating UAE in their first appearance in the Asia Cup 2025 on Wednesday. The bowlers ran riot in Dubai, bowling out the UAE for just 57 runs.

 

 

Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy took sides, after which Kuldeep Yadav's magical spell began, where he clinched four wickets. Shivam Dube's three precious wickets dashed UAE's positive start. Then began an easy chase by Abhishek Sharma, Shubhman Gill, and Suryakumar Yadav, who together posted 60 runs on board within mere 4.3 overs and 93 balls to spare. 

 

 

It all started with the toss win as India ended its streak of losing 15 tosses in a row. The Indian Cricket Team played its first T20 since February, and also came after a month-long break post the five-Test series tour in England. 

After winning the toss, the Suryakumar Yadav-led pack was elected to field, where they mocked down UAE at 57 in 13.1 overs. Opener Abhishek Sharma scored 30 off 16 balls, while Vice Captain Shubhman Gill hit an unbeaten 20, and the finishing touches from skipper Suryakumar Yadav 

The team could manage to live up to the worthy expectations and displayed its might as the current T20 World Champions, kickstarting their tournament on a winning note. The men in blue will next face Pakistan this weekend on September 14, looking forward to continuing their victorious stride as they have lost only four matches in 22 games so far.
