Batting first, Team India posted 247 runs on the scorecard. Openers Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana gave the required start, followed by Harleen Deol's 46 and Jemimah Rodrigues's 32. While wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh's quick 35 took India close to 250.
India restricted Pakistan to only 159, registering their 12th ODI win against arch-rivals. Renuka Singh and Kranti Goud ensured dominance with the ball. Within eight overs, Pakistan was 26 for 3. Sidra Amin, who was turning dangerous with her 81-run stance, was dismissed by Sneh Rana. Goud clinched 3/20, while Deepti Sharma went with 3/45 and Shree Charani with 2/38.
The Women in Blue were balanced in their performance, building some crucial partnerships, class bowling, and equally remarkable fielding.
Fielding coach Munish Bali acknowledged some stellar fielding performances from the team, lauding players including Deepti, captain Harmanpreet Kaur, and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana.
He said, "Shabaash (excellent) girls, well done. Back-to-back wins - took six catches and two run-outs, well done. Two very good catches under pressure - Smriti, well done. One good catch, one direct hit - well done, Harmanpreet. Deepti, excellent slip catch. Good low catch. One run out with very good game awareness, excellent Deepti."
Deepti Sharma was presented with the best fielder medal by Richa Ghosh for her direct run hit. Her crucial hit resulted in the dismissal of Pakistan's opener Muniba Ali, while her bat was in the air. She also contributed to the victory with both bat and ball. Earlier, Deepti won the "Player of the Match" award in the first match against Sri Lanka.
