While Shivam Dube's contribution of 33 runs from 22 deliveries, with Sanju Samson's 24, was equally vital. Rinku Singh's four added the finishing touch to India's innings. It was a shaky start for India with 20/3, as it lost early wickets of Abhishek Sharma (5), Shubhman Gill (12), and Suryakumar Yadav (1).
Pakistan, while batting first, posted 146 all out, despite a strong start at 113/1. Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46) gave flight to Pakistan's innings, but soon after began their collapse. Kuldeep Yadav's four-wicket haul with Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy, and Axar Patel's crucial wickets led to Pakistan's fall in 19.1 overs.Â
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the team, posting on X, "#Operation Sindoor on the games field. Outcome is the same - India wins! Congrats to ur cricketers."Â

Yet again, Indian players refused to shake hands with their Pakistani counterparts. Equal attention was grabbed post-match as skipper Suryakumar Yadav snubbed the ceremony, refusing to receive the trophy from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief, Mohsin Naqvi. The Indian Cricket Team celebrated their win without the trophy, only with winning gestures.Â
Â
Â
Suryakumar noted, "I think this is the one thing I have never seen. Since I started playing and following cricket, a champion team being denied a trophy. That, too, a hard-earned one. For me, the real trophies are sitting in the dressing room - my 14 teammates and the support staff. They are the reason we won this title. Still, a team winning a hard-fought tournament and not getting a trophy is something that I have never seen."Â
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the team's stance, saying, "We decided not to accept the Asia Cup 2025 trophy from the ACC Chairman, who represents a country currently at odds with ours. That was our stance. But this does not give him the right to take the trophy and medals. It is extremely unfortunate and unsportsmanlike. We hope the trophy and medals are returned to India as soon as possible. We will launch a serious protest at the ICC Conference this November."Â
Naqvi is a Pakistani politician who also serves as the Federal Minister of Interior and Narcotics Control. He often shares social media posts against India.Â
Later on, during the press conference, Suryakumar announced that he would donate his entire match fees from the tournament to the Indian Armed Forces and the victims and families of the Pahalgam terror attack.Â
He stated, "As a gesture, I want to donate my match fees from all the games in this tournament to the Indian Army. I don't know if people will call it controversial, but for me, it's the right thing to do."Â
Pakistan Captain Samlan Ali Agha echoed something similar. He also said that Suryakumar "disrespected cricket", claiming that he is a different person in public compared to how he behaves in private. During the press conference, he said, "What India has done in this tournament is very disappointing. They are not disrespecting us by not shaking hands; they are disrespecting cricket. Good teams don't do what they did.
"We went to pose with the trophy on our own, because we wanted to fulfill our obligations. We stood there and took our medals. I don't want to use harsh words but they have been very disrespectful." He also defended Mohsin Naqvi's actions. Â
